Bruce Bergamini Obituary

Bruce Douglas Bergamini passed on 24 August, 2024, at the family home in Paulden, Arizona, with his wife of 58 years, and family, by his side. Born the second son of Joseph and Edith (Davis) Bergamini in Rockville, Connecticut on 6 April, 1945.

After graduating from Bloomfield HS, he spent a summer in Florida with an aunt and uncle before voluntarily joining the Air Force, where he served as a liquid fuel maintenance specialist. While stationed in Roswell, New Mexico, he met and married the love of his life, Carole, and became the instant father of four on 2 December, 1966. The AF moved the family to Tucson, Arizona, where they welcomed child #5. Eventually, the AF moved the family to Westover Air Reserve Base in Chicopee, Massachusetts. After his military separation, the family moved to Bloomfield, Connecticut for a short time, then settled in Granby, Connecticut, where he worked for Pratt & Whitney as an aviation jet engine mechanic. The family journeyed to Phoenix, Arizona adding two more sons, making the family of nine complete. After four years there, home became Chino Valley, Arizona, where Bruce started and ran his own business, Bergamini Petroleum.

Hobbies included cars, cars and cars — buying, racing, fixing and restoring. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and baseball.

His all-time favorite was getting into the word of God and his relationship with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Preceding him in death were both parents, Joseph and Edith, and son, Scotty.

He is survived by his wife, Winnie Carole of Paulden, AZ; brother Lee (Gail) Bergamini of Greensboro, NC; Cathy (Mark) Clevenger of Chino Valley, AZ; Young (Scott) Bergamini of Chino Valley, AZ; Tanis (Dusty) Cathey of Pep, NM; Gary Duane Bergamini (Michelle Milner) of Prescott Valley, AZ; Joseph (Leann) Bergamini of Paulden, AZ; Matthew (Jennifer) Bergamini of Chino Valley, AZ; Brad (Jennifer) Bergamini of Prescott, AZ; 27 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
