Charles Henry Barnes 1937 – 2026
Charles Barnes “Chuck” as he was known, went to be with the Lord on January 13, 2026.
Born in Denver, Colorado on May 25, 1937 the youngest of six children, he spent the early
years of his life in the Denver area and one year in Colorado Springs, from there with his
Mother, four sisters and one brother they moved to Evergreen, Colorado and lived in a small
settlement called Wah Keeney Park, Where he attended school and met his future wife (his
sweetie) Eloise.
At 17 Chuck enlisted in the Airforce and became an Aircraft mechanic, He was deployed to
Guam – he had no idea where Guam was then, but once there he fell in love with the beautiful
and peaceful country.
His unit was an Air Reconnaissance Squadron; Chuck volunteered many times to go along
on flights where they would fly into typhoons to the center eye to take readings of the storm.
He valued his time in the Airforce and the opportunity he was given to fly to places he had
never heard of all over the South Pacific.
After his time in the Service, he returned to Evergreen and Married Eloise Brock they moved
to Denver where they raised their two daughters.
He went to work for Pepsi Cola Bottling Company, as a route salesman.
And then moved on to construction Jobs in Land Development operating Heavy Equipment
and managing projects.
Partner of B & G Excavating in Denver Until a trip to the Western Slope of Colorado where he
and Eloise found a quiet and beautiful piece of land to call home.
He worked for the Colorado Department of Transportation on the western slope until 2005
when he retired and Chuck and Eloise moved to Yuma, Arizona.
He is preceded in Death by his Father Charles W. Barnes, his mother Myrtle Rose, Sisters
Lillian, Doris, Elaine, Deanna, older brother Gary and Son in law Ron Davis.
Survived by his Loving Wife, Best Friend and “Sweetie” of 67 years Eloise,
daughters Vickie Jo Davis, Gale Lynn and Son in Law Terry Burt.
Grandchildren: Megan Post (Mark), Charlie Ann Davis, Chelcea Davis (David Turner), Jesse
Burt (Alexandra), Nicholas Burt (Jordan) & Jacob Burt.
Great Grandchildren: Gina Lapore (Tim), Anthony & Mia Post, Jett Aribella, Leo Victoria &
Ronie Davis, Nicko, Amilia, Braxton and Halle Burt, Lee Burt.
Great Great Grandson Luca Lapore.
And many loving Nieces, Nephews & Friends.
