Ernest Ebin Welchel

Ernest Ebin Welchel, passed away December 10, 2025, in Chandler, Arizona. He was
born January 1, 1947, in Lincoln, Illinois, to Ebin B. Welchel and Mamie Marie Jackson.
Ernest was a retired Drill Sergeant in the Army. He also owned his own construction
company, ran a screen printing shop, and was a computer operator. He was married to Diana
Welchel for 40 years before her passing on June 26, 2025.
Survivors include his eight children which are Krista Weir, Craig Smice, Michael Smice,
Sandy Dobson, Shonna Rubingh, Marty Welchel, Greg Welchel and Cassandra Welchel and
five siblings, David Welchel, Jim Welchel, Thomas Welchel, Libby Purlee and Cindy Bailey.
A Celebration of Life will be held on February 6th, at 6 p.m., at Chino Valley Word of Life,
590 W. Road 1 North, Chino Valley, AZ
