Joseph (Joe) Paul Moniz III, 74, of Congress, Arizona, passed away at home, after a long battle with cancer, surrounded by loved ones on February 15, 2026. Joe was born on August 13, 1951 in Morristown, New Jersey.
Joe was deeply loved and will be missed by all. Joe was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend.
Joe served in the United States Army for 20 years in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab. After an honorable discharge from the Army, he worked on a ranch in Akron, Colorado, at City Market in Steamboat Springs, Colorado and then at the Tile and Carpet Shoppe in Steamboat Springs, Colorado as a warehouse manager.
Joe enjoyed snowmobiling, hunting, fishing boating, recreational shooting, golf, prospecting, and spending time with family and friends.
Joe is survived by his wife, Anna Moniz, his children Joseph Paul Moniz IV, Michelle Lester and husband Jason, Marc Bell and wife Julie, Jonathan Bell; grandchildren Joseph V, Allison, Bayleigh, Maddison, and Lukas; his sister Linda Cantwell and husband Rick, and brother Mitchell Moniz . Joe was preceded in death by his parents Jessie and Joseph Paul Moniz Jr.
A memorial service/celebration of life will be held at Congress Community Church, 27420 S. Santa Fe Rd, Congress, Arizona, 85332 on Saturday, March 21st at 1:00 pm
