Patti was born January 30, 1947 in Denver, Colorado to her parents, Richard and Doris Peterson.
A self-proclaimed Army brat, she traveled with them to Germany and France. She most loved the years she spent in Hawaii. Patti took pride in being the only blonde “Howlie” amongst her Hawaiian classmates.
She graduated from North Salinas High School and Hartnell College. Patti’s first job was that of a dental assistant. Late, she was a purchasing agent for a manufacturing company and a design coordinator for a custom dinnerware manufacturer.
She married her husband Bill in 1972 and raised their two daughters, Melanie and Nicole, her full-time and most important job.
Pattie loved oil painting and taught painting lessons for 45 years. Patti’s unlimited talent inspired literally hundreds of students to explore the joys of painting. Her objective was to encourage them to experience the artistry and not focus on the final outcome. Other interest included jewelry making, designing remodel projects and line dancing.
Patti was a true animal lover. She had many dogs and cats. Her latest and favorites were Cody, her black lab, and Shaka, her miniature parrot.
Patti is survived by her husband of 48 yeas Bill, her mother Doris Bettencourt, Daughter Melanie (Brian), daughter Nicole (Dave), brother Craig (Janette), sister Barbara (David), grandson Zachary, great granddaughter Aurora, and many nieces and Nephews.
Patties independent and artistic spirit will be missed but not forgotten.
