Some people only walk this Earth for a short time. Their departure reminds us that angels are watching over us. On March 9th, 2021, Patricia Schutz got her wings and went to walk with the angels. Born in Minnesota on March 11th, 1938, she was 82 years old, just 2 days shy of her 83rd birthday. She passed away peacefully in her home in Wickenburg, Arizona.
Patricia was an outdoor enthusiast who had a passion for camping, sight-seeing, and hunting for anything from rocks, animals, to Indian artifacts. She had a deep love for pets, and throughout her life she owned everything from a pack of skunks, to litters of weiner dogs. Sometimes we wondered if Patricia’s pets were getting pampered more than herself, as her dogs were eating steak dinners and she was snacking on leftovers! This love for her pets just confirms how deep her compassion was, not only for animals but for everyone in her life. She was a loyal supporter of the ASPCA, Wildlife Preservation, and the Sioux Indian Tribe in Montana. If she wasn’t spending time or supporting her pets, she was cheering away (or cussing at) her favorite sports team on TV. Her favorite teams were the Greenbay Packers, the Minnesota Vikings, and the Arizona Diamondbacks. Patricia is survived by her 4 children, 17 grandchildren, 35 great grand children, and 3 great great grand children. She was a loving, kind hearted mother, grandmother, wife, and friend, who will be missed by so many. Although her wings were ready, our hearts were not.
“God looked around his garden
And found an empty space Then he looked down upon this Earth
And saw your tired face
He put his arms around you
And lifted you to rest
God’s garden must be beautiful
He only takes the best
