Randy Pope Obituary

Randy Craig Pope passed away at his home in Waddell, Arizona on March 23, 2024 under the loving care of his daughter Abigail and her husband Alexander. Randy was born in Green River Wyoming on July 29th, 1957 to Ronald and Christine Pope. He is survived by his parents, his daughter Abigail (Alexander), daughter in law Tiffany Pope, 5 grandchildren Adelaide, Hailey, Lincoln, Brinley, and Vance Pope. Also surviving are his brother Rick (Connie) Pope, and his niece Samantha. Preceded in death by his son Jeremy Craig Pope who passed away in a tragic car accident last year.

Randy spent most of his younger years in Woods Cross and Bountiful Utah. In youth he found his love for racing and building cars. Out on the dunes, on the desert trails, in the garage or on the race track was where he loved to be. In 1986 Randy moved to Arizona where he continued his love of racing for many years. He raced on dirt tracks at Manzanita in Phoenix, Canyon Raceway in Peoria, and Paved Oval in Blythe, California. He had an extensive racing career where he won many trophies and set a track record at Canyon Raceway.

Randy was an entrepreneur and started many successful businesses in Arizona. Starting with a roofing and siding company called The Siding Doctor, and then he became a General Contractor and started Grand National Builders. He then found a way to combine all his passion and founded The Decal Shoppe in 2002, this business legacy will be continued by his daughter Abigail and son in law Alexander. His son Jeremy followed in his father’s footsteps, and was a successful entrepreneur and created a legacy for his family.

His last year of life was used to create many memories with friends and family, including the marriage of his daughter at his family home. He was happiest behind the wheel of vehicle with the roar of the engine in his ear, on the track, trail, water, or road. He always had a sense of adventure and enjoyed cruising through the mountains.

Per Randy's wishes cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at his home in Arizona on May 4th, 2024. Please join the family for a day of food, fun and memories. More details to follow.
