Richard Allan Zeller went home to be with his Savior on Monday morning, December 7, 2020 after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease. He was born on September 1, 1943 in Detroit, MI to William Sr and Gladys Zeller. Richard was preceded in death by his parents William and Gladys. He is survived by his daughter Angele, (Gwin) his brothers William Jr (Becky), Kenneth and nephews Helmut (Tammy), John (Teonna) and KC. After high school, Richard and a friend hitchhiked across the country to Los Angeles and back to Michigan. He then enlisted in the US Army and was stationed in Germany where he was a lineman. Upon his return to the states, he married Lynne Beatty and became father to Angele. They moved to Wickenburg in 1970, and soon after, his brother William and his family moved there and then his parents. Richard was a hard worker, and a great provider. After moving to Arizona, he began working at Benner-Nawman Inc, and finished his working career with 33 years (12 years as foreman), at the Arizona Department of Transportation. Richard has been a member of Calvary Baptist Church since January of 1975. He had many interests, including spending time with his family, hunting, fishing, and 4-wheeling in the desert. He especially loved to talk about his life experiences and had a unique way of jotting his stories on paper in a very descriptive manner. He was very proud of successfully completing a once in a lifetime Desert Bighorn Sheep hunt. He kept a daily journal of his life and wrote of his hunting and fishing adventures and stories of his favorite guns. In lieu of flowers, friends and family may donate to the Calvary Baptist Church in Wickenburg, or the Parkinson’s Foundation at www.Parkinson.org . A memorial service is planned for 1:00pm on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Calvary Baptist Church at 920 N. Tegner St. in Wickenburg.
