Ruth Ellen (McMullin) Kennon

      Ruth Ellen (McMullin) Kennon was born December 22, 1930, in West Fork, Missouri. She went to her heavenly home on August 2, 2025, having reached the age of 94 years 8 months and 20 days. On August 14, 1948, she was united in marriage to James Edward Kennon in Kirkwood Missouri. They enjoyed 66 years of marriage together, and 5 children were born to this union. Ruth and James loved to attend church, and they worked in various ministries together including pastoring the Pentecostal Church of God in Prescott Arizona. She was preceded in death by her husband James Edward Kennon, her parents Bill and Lillie McMullin, an infant son, 2 granddaughters Rachel Forrester, and Jennifer Reed, 2 great grandsons Matthew Flores and Skyler Reed. Also 3 brothers, Howard, Leroy, and Bill McMullin, 2 sisters, Opal Mae McMullin and Beulah Smith. Those who remain to mourn her passing are her 4 children, Lois Morgan of Steelville, Missouri, Jim Kennon of Potosi, Missouri, Shirley Kennon of Payson, Arizona, and Juanita Shepard of Potosi, Missouri one sister, Mildred Pritchett and husband Ron of Union, Missouri and sister-in-law Virginia McMullin of Vienna Missouri. Ruth had 13 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren. Ruth gave her heart to the Lord at an early age, and she served the Lord for the rest of her life. She loved to read the Bible and to hide it in her heart. She loved to go to church, and she was faithful to be there at every opportunity. Ruth loved to be outside and take long walks, rake leaves, plant flowers, and clean up yards. She loved going on adventures with her children. She was a special lady, and a great example to all her family. She moved to Arizona in 2020 and lived there until her passing. The graveside service will be held in Congress, Arizona with Pastor Richie Young officiating the service under the direction of David's Desert Chapel Wickenburg, Arizona.
